Lolita!

I was going to start out with some bikini posts but I just love this dress I got from the XLstreet market (https://marketplace.secondlife.com/?lang=en-US ), I decided to post about that instead. I am a lolita fan, as well as everything Victorian. If you're going for a spooky Halloween lolita look, this dress is perfect.

Here I am, relaxing in my new dress at my new home (I *have* to have a castle if I'm a vampire) in the Mountains of Hell. It doesn't look very hellish; it's actually quite peaceful to tell you the truth. The shoes are a group gift from G Field (*G FIeld* Main Store, YABU (155, 130, 23), and the stockings are a free gift from Amato (*mocchi*mochi*, Japan Fancy Island (20, 37, 22)

Me!

By the way, here's me! I know, I'm a vampire so it should be nighttime, but nighttime doesn't lend to flattering pictures....so here I am, in sunset. By the way, I'm not the sparkly fairy kind of vampire, I'm you're full-blown undead Anne Rice status vamp, keen on suckin' your blood.

Jesy Lilo Photoshoot!

This post is going to be rather long because I felt that in order to capture the quality of the free skin from JesyLiLo, it needed a photoshoot. And what better place to do a photoshoot than on a beautiful beach? So, here is the skin, in its full glory and all its different shades and several free poses (courtesy of the Free Dove, which is an in-world store for newbies) and a free bikini off the Marketplace (bikinis will be listed in a separate post).

This is the tanned shade with light shiny lipstick and light eyeshadow. Below is its counterpart with heavy eyeshadow.

This one has a slightly redder shade of lipstick, with the same two varieties of eyeshadow as the first.

This one is the darkest shade of red, and the one with the heaviest eyeshadow is my personal favorite of the tan skins.

This one is the super evening shade of lipstick; it's maroon with a ton of gloss.

These are the pale shades, and I had to adjust the sun so they wouldn't look washed out. Sunset was the perfect time of day for them, as you can see.

Darker red...

Even Darker red...

I think this is my favorite shade of lipstick for the pale version of the skin.

So, as you can see, these skins are so high quality that it's amazing that Lilo Glom would even think of giving it away for free, but she is super generous and has given us the privileges of owning it with no cost. The hair doesn't come with the skin (hair never comes with skins sadly); when I'm not raving about super awesome free skins from the depths of Second Life I'm a vampire who is very fond of Victorian/fantasy outfits. This high -quality hair comes in a gift box from my clan, as a promotion to get new members/claim new souls. I probably would have been lost without it.

Skins

The first things I want to post about are the skins in Second Life. Without a skin, an avatar is less than pretty, which is what most people want to be in Second Life, because it doesn't take copious amounts of exercise and dieting to get that way in this game. There are several low-quality skins you can get in most freebie dungeons, which I will show you in this post, as well as some designer skins which are given as gifts in some stores (if you are determined to find them). I found a great skin by a gem-the-rough couple of designers, LiLO Glom and Micah Darkthorn, who own a store in Second Life called Jesylilo ( JeSyLiLO - Main Store, Tranquillity (84, 156, 21) ). The skin is the best I've found so far on my quest.

The skin comes in 8 different shades, so you'll never need another makeover for whatever event you're attending!

Hi!

My name is Nefera Meiler, and I am one of the many avatars in the virtual world called Second Life. It's a game for those who want to escape from the hassles of the real world, or want to let their imagination expand to its greatest extent, or both. Second Life offers a wide range of things for people to do, and it is entirely user-created, save for a few trees. People create entire worlds, or Sims (think of the Sims game), that include elements you would never see in real life. A big thing in Second Life is fashion, because the things you can do with clothing in that game are equally as fantastic as the scenery. http://www.secondlife.com/ is the address, and joining can be free or paid.
Being a broke college student in real life (or IRL as they say in-world), I had to use a free account. That limits my options of what I can do in the game money-wise; SL has its own currency and one of their dollars, or Lindens (Second Life was founded by Linden Labs), is worth much less than a dollar of US currency. Usually good-quality clothing in Second Life is quite expensive, ranging from 50L$ to 4,000L$! However, if you're desperate to clothe yourself and not look like a noob (or "newbie"), there are places you can go to get free gifts offered by designers or freebie dungeons where you can find loads of newbie clothes that are usually and sadly of very low quality. I have made it my mission to find the best freebies in SL, and show every Noob hereafter where to get them. It is a quest that I hope will be never-ending.
